Meet the Artist!
Hello! I’m Sophia (she/her), a children’s book illustrator based in Bournemouth, UK.
My practice is inspired by my love of literature, nature and slow living, which are themes I like to reflect within my work.
The process I use to illustrate combines the energetic texture and loose nature of watercolour to create movement and life, with the convenience of digital compiling and rendering to create polished and professional pieces.
I aim to create work that embodies the comforting nature of classic watercolour illustrations, while having a modern edge, especially in terms of subject matter and diversity.
Hobbies outside of my practice include reading, beach walks and rewatching comfort shows and animations,
and as you can see, drinking endless cups of tea (earl grey)!
